Nereus

Nereus, the ancient, exceeding wise
Beholding all the future with your eyes;
No thing is hidden; Ocean’s depths are known.
By you in secret caverns wind is blown,
Which shakes the earth, and stirs what’s in the deep,
And all your counsels there your daughters keep.
The friend of man, the peaceable, the kind.
To you what shall be is like what’s behind –
Perceived, apparent, all within the light:
Who walks with you shall surely know what’s right.
Along the path that’s good you are the guide:
Let he that loves the truth walk at your side.
